Crossbowmen are the second basic troops for the Humans and they belong to the Short Ranged class. With their accurate crossbows, they will assist from a distance, shooting deadly bolts at the enemy.
These new fighting units are heavy hitters and give powerful help to the Axe Barbarians in the battlefield, just keep them out of the front line.

By reaching "Crossbowman Promotion" technology in the Research menu, you will be on the verge of developing a crossbow of devastating effect.
Crossbowmen II will become stronger and their new crossbow will pierce even the armor of a simple close-quarter warrior. These advanced short ranged warriors will be highly effective against light melee in particular.
